The attorneys at Alders and Lewellyn had a successful bench trial in Shelby County Circuit Court on August 24, 2024. The client came to Alders and Lewellyn after being dissatisfied with the way her car accident case was being handled at another law firm. When the attorneys at Alders and Lewellyn took over the case, they had a lot of work to do to rehabilitate this motor vehicle accident case.
Once the client signed the attorney client contract, the work began. Immediately, Attorney Austin Alders filed a lawsuit on this matter and served it on the Defendants. After that, the support team at Alders and Lewellyn began contacting experts to assist on this matter and began scheduling depositions.
After two years of building the case (seven depositions conducted during that time span) and being meticulous with every detail, we were ready for trial. During the span of two days, Attorney Eric Lewellyn put on several expert witnesses (independent medical evaluators, vocational experts, economists) and lay witnesses to help bolster the Plaintiff’s chances at victory. At the close of Plaintiff’s proof, the attorney for the Defendant moved for directed verdict on a complex legal procedural issue.

Attorney Lewellyn was able to respond and defeat this argument and shortly afterward the judge ruled in the Plaintiff’s favor and awarded $280,844.86 to the Plaintiff.
