Austin Alders


Attorney Austin Alders is the managing partner of Alders and Lewellyn, PLLC. Attorney Alders is licensed in the State of Tennessee. Mr. Alders received his Law degree from the University Of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School Of Law. While at the University of Memphis, Mr. Alders was a recipient of the Jon S. Schober scholarship for his academic accomplishments.

During law school Mr. Alders was part of the Housing Adjudication Clinic for the Memphis Housing Authority. He also continued clerking for a highly respected bankruptcy law firm during his second and third years of law school.
Upon graduation Mr. Alders joined Reaves Law Firm PLLC as a personal injury law attorney, in order to fight the insurance companies and ensure every client receives fair compensation for their injuries.

After four years at Reaves Law Firm, Mr. Alders decided to branch out on his own and create a law firm that caters to the city he loves. Learn more >

Eric J. Lewellyn


Attorney Eric J. Lewellyn is a partner at Alders and Lewellyn, PLLC. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Mississippi. Attorney Lewellyn was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. Lewellyn graduated from Rhodes College and then attended the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. Following his graduation from law school, Mr. Lewellyn worked for Justice Janice Holder of the Tennessee Supreme Court. During that time he assisted Justice Holder with the research and writing of Tennessee Supreme Court opinions. This experience provided invaluable experience performing legal research and writing, as the Court sought to resolve the toughest cases in the state.

After working with Justice Holder, Mr. Lewellyn began working for one of the largest insurance defense firms in the Southeast. His primary concentration area was workers’ compensation and personal injury defense. This experience provided Mr. Lewellyn with the opportunity to learn how insurance companies think and operate.

In 2016, Mr. Lewellyn decided that he no longer wished to represent insurance companies and that he wanted to use his talents to make a difference in the lives of others. Since 2016, he has focused his practice exclusively on representing people who have been injured by the negligence of others. During that time, Mr. Lewellyn has obtained the following jury verdicts:
November 12, 2017 – Benton County, Mississippi – $1,800,000.00
March 8, 2019 – Shelby County, Tennessee – $1,387,762.93
September 25, 2019 – Shelby County, Tennessee – $2,519,772.00
In addition to these jury verdicts, Mr. Lewellyn has obtained numerous settlements over $500,000 including the settlement of a traumatic brain injury case for $2,100,000.00, the settlement of an apartment shooting case for $1,200,000.00, and the settlement of a wrongful death case for $900,000.
Mr. Lewellyn joined Mr. Alders in practice in January 2022. Mr. Lewellyn wants to use his experience to fight for you and to insure that you receive fair compensation for your loss or injury.

Darcel A. Hibbler


Ms. Darcel A. Hibbler was born and raised in Memphis, TN where she attended college at Middle Tennessee State University as she prepares for law school. Darcel’s passion for personal injury grew while helping injured parties recover the compensation they deserve. She thoroughly enjoys helping individuals that have been injured and considers it one of the most rewarding areas of law practice.

Darcel is involved in every aspect of managing a case from beginning to end. She assists by providing regular updates to clients, building high-value cases, maintaining attorney calendars and deadlines, and drafting court documents and correspondence.

She is motivated by the opportunity to help people and experience new and interesting challenges. While away Darcel manages a mobile bartending company servicing all event types. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Hattie Benfield


Hattie attended the University of Mississippi where she earned her bachelor’s degree of applied science in paralegal studies in 2010. Hattie moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 2013 to start her legal career at one of the largest defense firms, concentrating on workers’ compensation and personal injury, in Memphis. In 2016, Hattie decided to further her career and transition from working at a defense firm to a firm representing plaintiffs who had been injured as a result of others.

During that time, Hattie developed a deeper passion for personal injury while helping clients receive the compensation they deserved. Hattie was assigned to several multiple million-dollar cases which resulted in numerous verdicts in Mississippi and Tennessee totaling $5,707534.93 combined.

Hattie is skilled and involved in all aspects of litigation. She handles cases with the highest regard for professionalism. Hattie passionate about    helping others during difficult times in their lives. During her time away, Hattie enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

James Laws


James Laws is a paralegal for the Offices of Alders and Lewellyn where he specializes in personal injury law in Tennessee and Mississippi.Mr. Laws was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee where he attended the honors program at White Station High School.

He began his legal career while he attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in English.

James is skilled in all aspects of complex litigation and handles Plaintiffs’ cases from start to finish with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
James is also a longtime member and supporter of the local music scene in Memphis. During his time away he enjoys playing and writing music, spending time with his dogs and travelling locally and internationally. An avid reader, James loves getting immersed in stories and is a huge J.R.R. Tolkien fan.
